The Current Situation


Chemical Chemical plants often contain quantities of hazardous materials. Up until September 11, 2001, carrying out a PHA was considered adequate in protecting the facility. Since then, however, chemical plants have faced new risks. They are now seen as potential targets for terrorists, criminals and disaffected employees. The theft or deliberate release of hazardous chemicals can cause massive amounts of casualties, economic loss and environmental contamination.
