Course Description
Layer of Protective Analysis (LOPA) is a semi-quantitative risk analysis technique. It lies in between a HAZOP and a quantitative risk assessment (QRA) in terms of its rigorousness. LOPA helps to answer the following questions:
- What’s the likelihood of undesired events / scenarios?
- What’s the risk associated with the scenarios?
- Are there sufficient risk mitigation measures?
This course examines the technique required to carry out a LOPA. The topics in this course include:
- Understanding LOPA
- When LOPA should be used
- LOPA methodology
Course instructors are industry experts from the fields of risk and security management and assessment, engineering principles, design and development, and projects execution.
