Course Description
Layer of Protective Analysis (LOPA) is a semi-quantitative risk analysis technique. It lies in between a HAZOP and a quantitative risk assessment (QRA) in terms of its rigorousness. LOPA helps to answer the following questions:

What’s the likelihood of undesired events / scenarios?
What’s the risk associated with the scenarios?
Are there sufficient risk mitigation measures?

This course examines the technique required to carry out a LOPA. The topics in this course include:

Understanding LOPA
When LOPA should be used
LOPA methodology
