Dyadem and AIChE Collaborate to Help Industry Identify Security Threats

Security Vulnerability Analysis Software Arms Risk Professionals with Knowledge
TORONTO - January 30, 2004 - Dyadem, a leading provider of Quality Lifecycle Management and Risk Lifecycle Management solutions, and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), today announced that Dyadem will incorporate the Security Vulnerability Analysis (SVA) methodology developed by AIChE's Center for Chemical Process Safety into its popular SVA-Pro software.

CCPS developed the SVA methodology, published in Guidelines for Analyzing and Managing the Security Vulnerabilities of Fixed Chemical Sites, after the events of September 11, 2001 to help companies analyze chemical security risks and reduce their vulnerabilities. Today, it is widely utilized by leading chemical manufacturing organizations.

SVA-Pro software unites CCPS's effective methodology with a powerful software tool, making the CCPS methodology more efficient and cost-effective, and allowing users to produce consistent, auditable documentation. Since each facility has unique safety and security concerns, the software is fully customizable to suit individual customer requirements.

Designed with the needs of security specialists in mind, SVA-Pro provides expert guidance for studying a range of facilities to help companies identify critical assets, assess vulnerabilities, and evaluate current security measures in order to eliminate threats and reduce vulnerability through improved countermeasures.

"Our goal is to make security methodology accessible to industry professionals throughout the world," said John A. Sofranko, Executive Director, AIChE. "SVA-Pro delivers this critical information in a user-friendly format."

"Today's announcement represents a major step towards productivity enhancement for members of the process industries where CCPS guidelines are considered the standard for SVA studies," said Kevin North, Vice President, Dyadem International Ltd. "The need to manually conduct studies is now eliminated. Risk professionals who use SVA-Pro software can conduct SVA studies with the knowledge that they have deployed industry-leading technology that adheres to the CCPS guidelines."

Added CCPS Director Scott Berger, "As the leading developer and provider of industry-driven risk management and security vulnerability analysis tools, we are pleased that Dyadem will be helping us deliver the CCPS SVA methodology to the chemical industry in a way that combines CCPS expertise with powerful software tools."
