Huntsman Chooses Dyadem for Operational Risk Management

Toronto – September 29, 2010 – Dyadem today announced that it has been selected by Huntsman (NYSE: HUN) to help manage operational risks.  Huntsman, a global manufacturer and marketer of differentiated chemicals, will be using Dyadem’s Stature software as part of the operational risk management strategy to improve the efficiency of its risk management processes and ensure a safe work environment.

Key to Huntsman’s selection of Stature was its ability to synchronize information from multiple risk assessment methodologies.  Huntsman regularly conducts its Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) using the HAZOP and What-If methodologies and uses Safety Integrity Levels (SIL) and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) for its semi-quantitative risk assessments.  Dyadem's Stature software will allow Huntsman to conduct all of the studies necessary to meet its operational goals more efficiently and consistently.

Stature’s Web-based platform and database allows all users to access, edit and update data, and will not only link past and present studies, but also create a database of corporate knowledge for future use.  Improving visibility and providing flexibility to create and manage various types of risk assessment studies was critical to Huntsman’s decision to purchase Stature.  Following the implementation of Stature at four locations in Texas and one in Australia, Huntsman plans to roll out Stature to more locations worldwide.

“We chose Stature because it is easily configurable to our needs.  Huntsman will not only be able to use any type of methodology, but we can create analytic reports and dashboards, and ensure corporate standard consistency going forward,” said Rick Paull, Project Engineering Manager, Huntsman.  “Stature will allow us to ensure we remain efficient and timely in our business decisions, and help us mitigate as much potential risk as possible.”

Stature allows companies to manage and mitigate all of their various risks – to employees, equipment, the environment, the community and others – on a centralized platform, creating a more efficient, visible and interconnected risk management system.  By using a centralized database and Web-based interface, Stature ensures that information is retained for future studies and new employees.  With standardized templates for a variety of types of risk assessments, and the ability to capture prior knowledge for use in future studies, Stature ensures both corporate consistency and visibility into leading and lagging indicators of risk.

“With the implementation of Stature, Huntsman will realize true improvements in risk reduction and in business performance," said Kevin North, President and CEO, Dyadem.  "Making more informed and timely decisions at every level of the organization will ensure Huntsman remains at the top of its very competitive industry.”
