Kemira Oyj Implements Process Risk Assessment Strategy with Stature from Dyadem
Toronto – August 30, 2010 – Dyadem today announced that it has been selected by Kemira Oyj (NASDAQ OMX: KRA1V), a leading water-quality management company, to provide Operational Process Risk Management solutions for its sites. Kemira Oyj will be using Stature from Dyadem, a web-based application for enterprise risk management, in order to perform and review its Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) studies to ensure safe operations of its chemical plants.
Kemira Oyj is a global business with approximately 100 production and storage sites in about 40 countries and needed a solution that would centralize its risk assessment data. Previously using Dyadem’s desktop software, PHA-Pro, Kemira has upgraded to Stature, an enterprise software solution, in order to maintain an easily accessible database, and view its process risk reporting across multiple process risk assessments conducted in different locations. By using a web-based application, Kemira will be able to easily access its process risk assessments, and more efficiently share them across departments and sites, resulting in a quicker, more responsive business process. Kemira offers water quality and quantity management that improves customers’ energy, water and raw material efficiency and needed a process risk management solution that could ensure Kemira’s production reliability.
“Kemira will be using Stature to review critical operations such as start-up, shutdown, continuous and batch operations in our chemical plants, so having software that is accessible, easy to use, and captures knowledge for us was critical,” says PieterJan Bots, Process Safety Manager, Kemira Oyj. “After using Dyadem’s PHA-Pro, we knew the value of standardizing our process risk assessments and building a library of corporate knowledge. Having a web-based application, particularly one that is so powerful in its reporting capabilities, helps us to standardize assessments, and to view process risk holistically across our operations rather than in individual silos.”
Stature, Dyadem’s enterprise risk management software, will help Kemira Oyj conduct a variety of process risk assessments and allow it to create a corporate database that can be easily shared. This empowers Kemira with the necessary tools to make better decisions when mitigating and preventing process risk. Stature was designed to be able to accommodate organizations with either simple or intensive risk assessment requirements. Its web-based availability allows teams to work collaboratively from a centralized database. With access to data from across risk assessments, extensive knowledge libraries and standardized templates, Stature will save time while ensuring corporate consistency across all past, present and future risk studies.
“With operations that pose a risk to the environment at the forefront of today’s headlines, Kemira Oyj is emphasizing its commitment to effective risk management with the purchase of Stature,” said Kevin North, President and CEO, Dyadem. “By enabling the sharing of corporate knowledge across sites and business units and re-using information in future studies, Kemira will more efficiently mitigate potential process risks, and provide customers with a safer way of doing business.”
