New Risksafe™ 6 Reduces Injury-Related Downtime And Corporate Liability
Empowers Companies to Comply with OSHA's General Duty Clause
RICHMOND HILL, ON - December 14, 2004 - Dyadem International Ltd. Today announced the launch of the latest version of its workplace risk assessment software, RiskSafeTM 6. RiskSafe 6 now manages a greater range of analyses to help companies reduce their injury-related downtime and litigation expenses. Under the General Duty Clause, OSHA may issue citations for hazards in the workplace. OSHA is now using this clause to include the consideration of ergonomic hazards, as well as other hazards, in normal work place inspections that are not covered by any specific standards. RiskSafe 6 contains an ergonomic-specific template to help companies identify these ergonomic hazards.
In 2001, direct costs to American businesses for job related injuries and illnesses was $45.8 billion1. This figure excludes the financial impact due to production downtime or lost business. In order to reduce these costs and litigation costs, many major corporations are starting to require their contractors and subcontractors to meet their health and safety standards. RiskSafe 6 aids both contractors and subcontractors in reviewing their workplace to meet these standards.
"Workplace safety is a major concern for businesses, and managers at all organizational levels are now realizing the correlation between improved workplace safety and improved financial performance. RiskSafe 6 can dramatically help businesses reduce both their time-loss injuries and their corporate liability by allowing companies to systematically review job hazards and by helping them to prioritize their efforts to reduce these risks,” said Kevin North, Executive Vice-President, Dyadem International Ltd.
RiskSafe 6 boasts an enlarged suite of easy-to-use features to manage a greater variety of analyses including Job Safety Analysis (JSA), behavior-based, ergonomic and jobtask analyses. These new features include customer-requested enhancements for managing workplace risk assessments. Improved analysis and recommendation tools help companies carry out their assessments and analyze the potential hazards on their sites in a shorter amount of time. Enhanced document control features and the ability to extract and compare data from other studies allow companies to share information between their sites, providing a common language for their studies, which facilitates familiarity with processes across the organization. This ability reduces inconsistencies in the studies and promotes better sharing of risk assessment knowledge throughout the organization.
