Quantitative Risk Assessment
What does QRA do?
Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) provides a quantitative estimate of the risks posed as well as enabling risk mitigation methods to be evaluated so that risk can be reduced to acceptable levels. When should you use QRA?

Process plant facilities require quantified risk assessments in order to both evaluate and minimize risk both internally and externally.

QRA's should be used on existing facilities:
  • to ensure that the conditions have not deteriorated
  • During the expansion or modification of a facility
QRA's should be carried out during the design of new facilities to determine:
  • The amount of risk present in the facility
  • The plant layout / consequence analysis
